March 15th, 2021– SNOW CATS!

SNOW CATS!!!! 🐈‍⬛🐈🐱🐱 I’m a huge advocate of kitties getting daily outdoor time (weather permitting obviously). I’ve been cat owner for almost 30 years!! 👀😱 And the happiest cats I’ve ever raised have had daily outdoor time.

When kitties can sprint, climb trees, chase, explore, hike, hunt for bugs, etc it makes for happy cats. My kitty squad has been stir crazy waiting for the weather to break so they could go play outside again! Do you let your kitties have outdoor time? Even a patio or porch time is great for those city cats! 😻

COMMENTS:

  • Els Vleugels SoxmanMy cat likes to hang out on the deck in the sun but I can only do it when my son is not home. His swing is out that backdoor and he knows it.
    • Els Vleugels SoxmanRachel McCash Cronin She is soo funny she was born in this house I had to handfeed her with goat milk because her mom did not make enough for all the kittens. To this day she still asks for it each morning when I make my coffee.
  • Sheri Freedom LynnLove this‼️
  • Mindy BurnetteMine tries to sneak out the door every chance she gets, probably because she was rescued and was outside. But I live in an apartment and don’t want her to get ran over. There are a lot of strays around here.
    • Rachel McCash CroninMindy Burnette aww yes apartments are definitely a situation to keep kitties inside. Maybe a screened window to smell fresh air and window gaze would work?
  • Shakti Rios-ZuluagaThis made my day. Thank you for sharing it! ❤️
  • Laura ElizabethEvelyn said “what if she loses the white one in the snow?” 😆
    • ActiveRachel McCash CroninLaura Elizabeth aww she is so smart!! The white kitties have great camouflage right now so it’s a great thing they blend in. Living in the mountains we have predators so when the snow is out, the white kitties have great natural protection. The are also great at scratching at the door when they are done playing outside so we don’t have to worry about losing them—they always come in when they are done playing 😍🙌🏼
  • Kelli RobinsonHow much snow did you end up with? We had to cancel our trip because they had 2 ft in Estes Park.
  • Melissa McCash💕 the kitties!
  • Therese Simko AllenI’ve Always had outdoor cats who play all day and come cuddle at night lol.
  • Diana Grover LarsenI love this sooo much💗💗💗
  • Amanda BraunwalderYes! My cat loves to go outside at times when I let the dog out
  • Rachel SpiersOur cats are outside daily! They love it. Our whole street + daily walkers know our cats as the neighborhood cats! They love the outside time and the attention from others. They pretty much eat and sleep at home, along with a few cuddles. We have 3 hap… See More
  • Taylor ProvostI wish🥲 I don’t want them getting fleas. Or getting stolen by neighbors
    • Rachel McCash CroninTaylor Provost we had strangers steal our dogs when we tried having dogs. They’d take them off our property and take them to the shelter. It was so annoying!!! We eventually gave up having dogs over the issue. But cats are much harder for people to take—they are faster and more agile than dogs. Where are y’all located? Luckily fleas are not a problem where we live 🙏🏼 but when we lived in the south— it was something we had to look out for 💯
    • Taylor ProvostRachel McCash Cronin I’m so sorry! We live in Illinois. And we have fleas here 🙁 the people here that let their cats outdoors have their kitties on perpetual flea medication and I just can’t do that. I’m not too worried about my girl cats getting stolen but rather my boy cat. He’s very agile but he’s a huge flirt and he’d let someone take him home for sure!🤣 he walked right into our neighbors house one time like🤷 lol he’s too friendly for his own good🤦‍♀️
    • Layla Anastasia LegebokoffMy neighbor ACROSS the frickin road stole more cat for over a week.😭 The only reason I got him back was because the neighbour died that morning and people were going in and out of the house, Zeppelin came shooting outta there and I ran out to grab him. My landlord was yelling at me, I think I see Zeppelin!! Great timing…😅😂
    • Layla Anastasia LegebokoffTaylor Provost he had liver failure and was only in like… his 50s, I think. The gal I talked to said he may have been starting to lose it, though. He had foster kids and probably just wanted them to have a support animal since he knew he was on his w… See More
    • Layla Anastasia LegebokoffTaylor Provost yeah, I reckon so! I’ve been out front with my cat multiple times, I assume he had seen us out there at leasttt once. And the woman I spoke with (not sure who she is/what the relation is) said she even told him that it was probably someone’s cat!But he still kept it.🙃🤦‍♀️ meanwhile I was having anxiety attacks and walking up and down the streets for two fucking weeks. Ugh. I cannot bare the thought of losing him again.😭😭
    • Taylor ProvostLayla Anastasia Legebokoff I’m so sorry😭 one time when my cat went into our old neighbors place on accident he got beat by a broom by our neighbor. She said it scared her and she thought he was a wild animal. But she KNEW he was our cat. She just hated animals 😭
  • ActiveAmanda Jo♥️♥️♥️
  • Kathy Mason MartinThey’re beautiful!
  • Sarah Anāhata LahmanYes my cat is free to explore… unfortunately he explored himself right into my neighbors house, which also happens to be my dads house. He’s made himself quite comfortable over there, he hardly comes here anymore unless it’s to go under the house and hunt mice/moles. 😂
  • Mary Catherine WhitlockYes ny car has always been an indoor and outdoor cat. When we first got him we would go to the door and just cry to be let out so I knew it was the best desicion for him!
  • Jessica KishLove it. My 4 cats live 100% outside.
  • Ari KatOur cats run right back inside and want nothing to do wirh outside. My one cat years ago was an inside outside. Almost froze to death after falling into water in the woods. But we do have screened windows for the cats to see the outside and I’m getting a dog thing for them to be outside the tent and enjoy the outside while still being ‘inside”
  • Shown Reine BoldanMy cats get to roam our back yard they love it
  • Noelle QuadeMy girl is inside only.Occasionally she “sneaks” on to the back porch (when we’re out there, with the door open, very well aware of her 😉 ). She enjoys rolling around on the concrete occasionally. She HATES grass and dirt so she won’t go far. She usually runs back inside on her own within a few minutes.
  • Lauren GranadoWe have coyotes that hunt through our backyards in the middle of the day. They’re brave enough to attack large breed dogs. I’d love to let my cats out, but I’m terrified that they’ll be attacked. Any advice other than walking them on leashes? 🤣
    • Rachel McCash CroninLauren Granado aww we have coyotes too. I’ve noticed dogs are more of a target for wildlife than cats are. I’ve read and seen by far more stories of coyotes, mountain lions and bears attacking dogs and to be honest, haven’t heard any stories about cats yet. We had a 300 lb black bear inside our RV with our 4 cats and it seems like the bear ignored them 🤷🏻‍♀️. All 4 were just fine. I don’t think a dog would have been. Just an observation. I feel cats are less of a target than dogs
    • ActiveRachel McCash CroninLauren Granado yes exactly! Dont get me wrong, I still worry and always make sure all kitties are inside at night to avoid most predators. It’s always a risk but I also trust cats more than dogs to hid and stay hidden to avoid predators and dangerous situations. The few times we’ve seen bears during the day, our black kitty literally bolted to a hiding spot and stayed there silently until we scared the bear away. Cats have great survival instincts. Even when it’s snowing or bad weather, I have to call for the cats for several minutes in order for them to leave their hiding spots and come inside. They really seem to be cautious and move around when they feel they are safe
    • Amanda AckermannThey can also jump and climb. Very different from dogs.
    • Vickie BarlowLauren Granado we can’t let our cat out either. New Mexico is full of brave coyotes. They roam the soccer fields too. I would love to let her explore but I’m too afraid too!!
  • Christine RoddOur cat growing up was an indoor/outdoor cat. We lived in the country so I thought that was normal. Now I live in the city and people don’t let their cats outside..?

  • Kalyn Brooke HagleWhat a perfect, majestic, fairytale life that your sweet fur babies get to live 🥰❤️ You’re an awesome mama!
  • Alex ChristineOurs is outside every chance he gets, he loves running around the yard and laying on the porch. Super rare he leaves the yard…like super rare. If he does it’s only for an hour or two and he’s back home. He absolutely LOVED snow….omg I’ve never seen him so happy!! He played and played 😍 I love seeing him so happy and out of an apartment 😍😍😍
