Captains Log: City to Gritty
Today we woke up to life in the clouds ☁️. It’s moments like this where we are so grateful we decided to go for it—to change everything to accomplish this huge dream.
Troy asked what would happen if he breathed a cloud-I told him to go out and try it!
This week we accomplished our first birthday party in our new space. I love having a 5 year old. Anytime someone asks me what my favorite age is in parenting, it’s always the oldest age. It was 4, now it’s 5!
We also moved forward with adjusting our interior home designs with suggestions from a structural engineer (32 ft x 30ft glass walls need extra support). Once we complete the design, we can move to blueprints and then choosing a builder. Which we have one more interview with a new guy coming up next week.
Todd has been working on getting our RV winter ready. This means tons of insulating, skirting and more insulating. He ran into another neighbor who also thinks we are going to die living in a trailer up here. It’s just getting annoying/frustrating at this point hearing people say we will die and also judging our glass A-Frame cabin. PSA: it’s not a good idea to tell anyone they are going to die. And PSA: just because it isn’t YOUR dream, doesn’t mean it won’t work.
We also set up all our game cameras!! Now whenever we think we hear something, instead of Todd grabbing the shotgun and flashlight and patrolling, we can now check on all our cameras. And then determine if he needs to run outside with a shotgun and flashlight lol.
I also did 14 loads of laundry at once this morning and it’s all folded and put away. And cleaned the trailer. And weekly planned! So, feeling productive! Also 2 of my girlfriends offered to host me for laundry days so I won’t have to procrastinate braving laundromats anymore ????.
All in all, life is good. We are all happy, healthy. We have what we need. We are NOT afraid of winter. We are NOT going to die and we WILL have a noteworthy piece of architecture that will hopefully break ground next month! ?
