Today we made a jellyfish to finish out our unit on the Paleozoic era and then scouted our holiday tree from an area we need to excavate. 
We worked hard to dig up the root ball in hopes we can replant it after the holidays—hopefully that works out!! Maybe it’s the hippie in me but all trees should LIVE! 
And if they can’t live, then they should be used as sustainably as possible.
My kids are SO EXCITED about our little tree!! My husband works from 7:30am to 9pm+ most days right now and it was so special for him to put on the first ornament after the shock of me explaining how I dug up a 5.5” tree and put it inside our micro 120 sq/ft tiny home faded . This is our first Christmas at home since we went off the grid (last year we traveled for the holidays) and I can’t wait to make it as MAGICAL as possible

- Mark BoreBack in the 1930’s my great grandfather used to go up to the mountains in Canada and cut trees to sell to earn extra money. He would haul them with a team of horses and sleigh all over Southern Alberta. He happened to sell one to our neighbor down the street Mrs Mertz and he told her to plant it right after Christmas and everyday pour the water from the dishes and the laundry on it and it would grow. It’s still growing today.
