Me: “Come in for lunch!!”My kids:
But seriously, mud play is so important for children. It promotes health, boosts immunity, is an excellent medium for learning, releases serotonin, improves cognitive function and enhances fine motor skills. It also boosts creativity, imagination, independent learning, and teamwork. Other benefits include boosting problem solving skills, building, construction and so much more. Do you let your kids play in the mud? #offgridkids#mudplay

- Kathy WoodruffLOVE IT!!!
- Rachel McCash CroninKathy Woodruff yes!! Mud play is the best!!
- Candace Marie JamesYes!! The whole back entry to our house is the “mud room” and laundry room. Many clothes go directly from body to washing machine!
- Rachel McCash CroninCandace Marie James omg I love it!! We have our future mud room right next to our front door so hopefully kids can trek right into it or I’m possibly thinking of making a door from the outside straight into the mud room With 2 boys it might be worth it haha !!

- Shane BythewayAwesome
- Jessica Kishlet is subjective I want them to play but not too messy
- Rachel McCash CroninJessica Kish haha same!! I try to teach my kids they can do what they want, but need to put in the work to clean up after. Playing in the mud means carefully removing clothes, taking a shower, scrubbing shoes before school, etc. I helped with the shoes today but they did great with the other steps
- Nicole CrosbyI don’t think I’ve ever seen playing in the mud quite so intellectualized! But I’m glad he had a blast!
- Rachel McCash CroninNicole Crosby haha I’m a little obsessed with early childhood education. So much happens between birth and age 8. These are the most critical years by far. After age 8, everything just builds on the foundation created in the younger years. I believe kids are meant to be wild and free!! What looks like a mess is often never a mess, but a creation to be explored. I try my best to see the world through their eyes though I’m not perfect at all, I’m conscious of it and try to cultivate whatever it is that means something to them
- Nicole CrosbyRachel McCash Cronin makes sense to me! Outdoor play – including mud – is great for development.
